ANMDA Victoria Meet and Greet: 15 October 2022

Post from Dr Bimal Lal Shrestha, Victoria Coordinator, ANMDA on ANMDA Victoria Meet and Greet held on 15 October 2022

What a wonderful evening we had! The energy was absolutely palpable.

May I thank each and everyone of you who were able to be there. For those of us who couldn’t make it, we missed you, and look forward to meeting you at the next one!

Thank you President Dr Anupam Pokharel for being at the helm of organising this event. It proved to be a marvellous way to connect with so many of our esteemed medical and dental colleagues. Treasurer Dr Bhuwan Kandel’s advice and support was instrumental in putting together the event, thank you.

Past President Dr Chandra Pokharel’s account of ANMDA’s inception and journey was very humbling. It was heartening to realize how yesterday was but one of many things now possible because of the vision and hard work that’s been going on in the background for more than a decade and a half. We solemnly remembered our dear late colleagues Dr Kush Shrestha and Dr Aditya Prakash Malik for their contribution in growing and nurturing this tree that we can now all gather under. They’ll be proud.

The ‘unplugged’ introductory rounds were real fun! Each one was unique and we gained important insights into activities that our colleagues are involved in, both within and outside their profession, and how we can work with and support each other.

Thank you dear Meghavini for calling all of us onto the stage!

Many thanks to Dr Sarojani Maskey for sharing her experience and insight into starting and owning a practice.

We’re grateful to Mr Bam Gurung and his team at Kathmandu Banquet for the venue set up and delicious food. Many thanks to the amazingly talented Prabin Yonzan who filled the evening with his beautiful renditions of Nepali classics!

Once again, thank you for being there and making it possible.

I do believe that AMNDA is our platform where we as a group can connect and contribute to our roots in Nepal, which is the common thread that binds us all together.

Hope to meet you all again soon!
