Namaste and Happy Nepali New Year 2083!
I am delighted to share that our new and updated website has launched! It has been a busy few months for the executive committee working with the team from LangQuang, and we are pleased that the website is more user friendly and many features including automated membership payments and logging in to member areas are included. We have included photos and images from previous meetings, but it would be lovely if members could share with us photos from previous ANMDA events so that we can improve the website and also create a photo library in the member section.
In line with one of our main objectives for this term, we have had our first webinar of the year on the 16 th of February. Moderated by Dr Bibhu Pradhananga, this webinar was aimed at medical graduates new to Australia trying to familiarise themselves with the Australasian Healthcare System and navigating the job application process. I am sure it also benefited many of our more experienced members who frequently get asked these questions. The zoom recording is available on the member section of the website. Our next webinar focusing on questions asked in job interviews and job applications as well as improving your curriculum vitae is coming up on the 21 st of April, 8-9PM AEST. Please do sign up.
With the revamped website, we hope to make it easy to join and easy to keep track of your membership. Annual membership fees remain at $75 for general members and $5 for associate members, and you will have automated email reminders before your membership expires. Our second objective was to ensure we connect with as many medical and dental professionals as we can across Australasia, who will hopefully soon become members of ANMDA or rejoin. A bigger and stronger ANMDA can hopefully contribute to our community here in Australasia as well as in Nepal. We always welcome ideas on how ANMDA can contribute.
Finally, we are planning our AGM on the 21 st of November in Adelaide. Please mark this date in your diary and we will announce the venue and program soon. We are also hoping to organise Statewide dinner events in several states this year and will be announcing some dates and venues very soon. We hope to see you there!
Kind regards,
Dr. Milan Piya (NSW)
